Two of my daughters are going to Evergreen State Fair from the 28th to the 30th with their horses.  If you happen to be there during that time.  Make sure you stop by and say Hi, I'll be there all day every day (please bring coffee and any mood stabilizing medications that you have on hand!)

The girls are in Cabelleros Too 4H club and they should be at the beginning of Barn 104 (I think).

Make sure you stop by Monroe Farm and Feed to see Barry Bryant (that's his shop).  He's usually got a substantial part of his brood out there that week.

Is anyone else going to fair?

Anyone have any summer photos to share?

We had a good time at fair.  Ellie lost a shoe right before fair, and we made a quick call to the ferrier.  We were really suprised to find Payton Young (Jays Daughter) in our barn with the ferrier, she was doing some volunteer hours for school.

I've never had any experience showing at fair, and this was my daughters first time.  We parked the trailer camper and truck there for the whole session.  We went home every night, but it was nice to have a place to hang show clothes, keep cool drinks and relax in between classes.

The girls did well, Julia was a Reserve Grand Champion in Showmanship, and Madeline was a Grand Champion in Pleasure.  They also participated in some other classes, rode the rides, watched their cousin show her 4H dog, tasted the different foods, watched their friends, and saw the rodeo.

I think I lost my keys 3 times, woke up at 4:45 every morning, opened up the barn at 6 AM and didn't arrive home until after 9 PM - I still recommend it  though - it was a lot of fun!
